About this event
Join culture critic and diversity specialist Evelyn Bradley, writer and community educator Vanessa Bradley, and writer and historical interpreter Caitlyn Paxson at the Beaconsfield Carriage House as we read and chat about our summer Book Club pick: Into the Bright Open by Cherie Dimaline! Recommended for ages 15 and up. Books are available at The Bookmark - Book Club participants get a 15% discount! Copies are also available at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre (ask at the front desk to reserve a copy). About the Book: Governor General Award winning Author Cherie Dimaline remixes the classic children’s novel The Secret Garden in this historical exploration of rural Ontario that gives new voice to issues of race, colonization, disability, queerness, and the natural world through the framework of a familiar story.
