Intellectual Property (IP) Workshop Series

The PEI IT Alliance, in collaboration with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), is pleased to invite you to a free in-person workshop series focused on various aspects of intellectual property (IP). This series aims to provide valuable insights into protecting key elements of your business, including names, logos, products, services, slogans, internal information, innovations, and creative works.

The first session will take place on March 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (Atlantic Time) at The Foundry (163 Great George Street). CIPO’s IP Advisor for Atlantic Canada will be present, along with a representative from Springboard's Atlantic IP Advantage Program, who will share information about the two IP funding programs they manage.

This introductory session will cover:

• The five main IP rights: trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets, and patents

• The pros and cons of various IP protections

• Opportunities and challenges in managing IP

• The importance of integrating IP into your overall business strategy
