Kelly McMichael is an artist and producer based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, originally from Peterborough, Ontario. She is a multi-instrumentalist fluent in alternative pop/rock and has performed in North America and Europe accompanying The Burning Hell, Tim Baker and Sarah Harmer. Kelly’s early songwriting career was established in Ontario with DIY feminist synth bands Rouge, and Renders. After a decade as a side player, McMichael’s debut independent album Waves had a breakthrough in 2021, garnering a spot on the Polaris Prize shortlist, three Music NL Awards, and the ECMA for Best Rock Recording. 

Kelly’s sophomore album, 'After The Sting Of It' (Sept 2024) is a genreless expansion on the classic sound of her debut. It is currently simmering on national alternative radio including CBC, The Verge and campus charts.

Space Bud is an art-rock band. Playing their garage in the suburbs, they found a style drawing from all sides of rock music. Whether it's Canadian classic rock of the 1970’s, or a more modern art-rock of today, they carve their individuality in each song they write.
