About this event
Two dynamic voices and the swingin’ stylings of Les Royal Pickles in the beautiful North Rustico. Jenina MacGillivray is an acclaimed singer-songwriter out of Newfoundland. Weaving her Atlantic Canadian roots into the broader world, the Music NL Female Artist and Album of the Year winner is ‘the real deal’ (Roots Canada), penning songs that are wistful, longing and intimately familiar. In demand on folk festival stages is Plains-Cree singer-songwriter Wyatt C. Louis. Named one of CBCs 2024 ‘8 Indigenous Artists to Know’, the most recent album ‘Chandler’ from the Treaty 6 artist offers stunning vocals and a signature indie/roots spin on the country music ingrained in the geography of their childhood. Closing the night is Les Royal Pickles who quickly became festival favourites after their 2022 Small Halls debut. The 4-piece, Montréal-based swing band shares a repertoire rich in history, inspired by the swinging jazz sound of New Orleans. Be transported by this boisterous big band!
