Canadian soprano Tracy Cantin is a graduate of the prestigious Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Cantin was featured in mainstage productions of Il barbière di Siviglia, Elektra, Rigoletto, Parsifal, and Anna Bolena. She has been praised for her full, gleaming sound and the fact that she has it all - agility, power and coloratura. Cantin made a surprise debut at the Canadian Opera Company as the title character in Donizetti’s demanding Anna Bolena, which garnered her rave reviews. She has since appeared with the company in Strauss' Elektra, and joins them for their highly anticipated Spring 2023 production of Verdi's Macbeth as Lady Macbeth.
Tracy is joined by tenor Marcel d’Entremont and pianist Dakota Scott-Digout.
Marcel is celebrated for his powerful voice and dynamic stage presence, earning acclaim across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Europe Marcel has been a resident artist at the National Arts Centre, Toronto Summer Music, the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance, and the Banff Centre, where he created the role of Zacarias in a new opera Silent Light by Paola Prestini and Royce Vavrek. He also trained as an Equilibrium Young Artist, having been personally selected by soprano Barbara Hannigan. His operatic credits include Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), the Soldier (Wozzeck), and Rodolfo (La bohème). He has been featured as a soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre classique de Montreal and the PEI Symphony Orchestra. Marcel has been named one of CBC Music’s 30 Hot Classical Musicians Under 30.
Nova Scotian pianist Dakota Scott-Digout is quickly establishing himself as one of the brightest upcoming pianists in the country. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Toronto, he also holds degrees in piano performance from Université de Montréal and Mount Allison University. Dakota was recently named the winner of the Gwendolyn Koldofsky Prize in Accompanying, awarded to the top collaborative pianist at the university. Equally comfortable as a soloist, Dakota has performed in masterclasses for some of the world’s most renowned pianists, including Angela Hewitt, David Jalbert, Roy Howat, and André Laplante. Dakota has had success in various competitions, including the Atlantic Young Artist Competition, the NBMRTA Music Competition, and the National Music Festival of Canada.
