May 31, 2025 7-9pm - the multi-talented Sean Panting returns to The Battery Cafe.,

Sean Panting is a songwriter, musician and actor from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Over the course of a musical career spanning more than 35 years he has covered a lot of ground, serving as a founding member of East Coast 90's alt-rock stalwarts Drive, trad/blues/cajun family band The Panting Brothers, and NL fiddle-meets-Black-Sabbath mashup Kelly Russell and the Planks. 
 

As a solo singer-songwriter, Panting has released six full length albums and shared the stage with the likes of Ron Sexsmith and Billy Bragg.  

His songs cover the usual topics of love, loss, sex, drugs and rock n roll, as well as some more unusual left turns into the world of vampires, sea monsters, poisonous sandwiches, and stackable washer-dryer technology. His crowd-pleasing “Panting Under Pressure” segments with CBC Radio allow him to flex his songwriting muscles by imposing a one hour time limit to write a satirical tune about a mystery topic submitted by listeners.

Our max capacity is 35 so larger groups (>3 people) should purchase tickets well ahead of time. Walk-ins may be available on the day of the show - please drop in or call 709-722-9167 to confirm.

Our Kitchen closes at 4:00pm, but snacks and baked treats are available till 9:00.

Please arrive at least 15 mins early to get seated and avoid the rush. Groups of 3 or more will be assigned a table; free seating for singles and couples. Please check in with our staff before seating yourself.

Seats will be held for 30 mins after the show start, after which they may be given to walk-ins. Tickets can also be transferred - login to https://locarius.io/.
