About this event
From 1936 to 1946, Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce played Holmes and Dr John Watson in 14 feature films, some of which barely exceeded the 60 minutes mark.
We have pair three of those adventures, come for one, two, three movies... and we are gonna have 15 minutes break betwen each :
Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon (7:30)
A very loose adaptation of Conan Doyle's 1903 short story "The Adventure of the Dancing Men" with the plot transposed to World War II.
Sherlock Holmes helps a scientist escape the clutches of the Gestapo in Switzerland and gets him to England.
Dressed to kill (9:00)
The film has an original story, but combines elements of the short stories "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons" and "A Scandal in Bohemia." It is the Last of the 14 Rathbone/Bruce Sherlock Holmes movies.
Sherlock Holmes sets out to discover why a trio of murderous villains, including a dangerously attractive female, are desperate to obtain three unassuming and inexpensive little music boxes.
Terror by night (10:30)
The film's plot is a mostly original story not directly based on any of Arthur Conan Doyle's Holmes tales, but it uses minor plot elements of "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle," "The Adventure of the Empty House," "The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax," and "The Sign of Four".
When the fabled Star of Rhodesia diamond is stolen on a London to Edinburgh train and the son of its owner is murdered, Sherlock Holmes must discover which of his suspicious fellow passengers is responsible.
