Tuesday Aug 26, 2025 7-9pm - Special Event - Rachel Cousins and Summer Bennet Live @ The Battery Cafe

Rachel Cousins is an award-winning artist, emerging as one of Atlantic Canada’s most promising talents. She has won Music NL Pop Artist of the year 4 times , and in 2022 she also won the Solo artist of the year. Her self titled album earned her an East Coast Music Award nomination in 2019 and this year she earned her 2nd nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Rachel just won a prestigious spot with the Canada’s Walk Of Fame -RBC Emerging Artist program. With this program Rachel performed in Winnipeg opening for  Grammy award winning artist K’NAAN and also performed at the legendary RIVIOLI for Canadian Music Week. 

Rachel has also grown her audience with an impressive list of sync placements in television and film since signing with Toronto’s CYMBA music publishing. She has had songs placed in TV, movies, video games, Hockey Night in Canada and reality tv shows.  

While pursuing a music career Rachel always finds time to contribute and lend her talents to many causes in the community. One of her most fulfilling is going to schools to speak to kids about bullying, mental health and music.

She continues to be one of the hardest working and most well-respected young artists in the province, and and is currently working on her 4th album with Grammy award winning producer Greg Wells.

At just 17 years of age, Summer Bennet has won a MusicNL award for Indigenous Artist of the Year and a 2025 ECMA award for Dance Release of the Year. She has also won the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in the Teen category and was named “Top Teen” in the 2024 National CBC Searchlight competition. She has recently attended “Prodigy Camp” in Washington State for songwriting with teens from around the world – a camp that was taught by Chappel Roan. Summer is signed with Scilly Cove Records and is working with multi-Grammy Award winning producer Greg Wells (Wicked, Katy Perry, Michael Buble, etc.). Her debut EP "One Thousand Fahrenheit" is now streaming everywhere.

Our max capacity is 35 so larger groups (>3 people) should purchase tickets well ahead of time. Walk-ins may be available on the day of the show - please drop in or call 709-722-9167 to confirm.

Our Kitchen closes at 4:00pm, but snacks and baked treats are available till 9:00.

Please arrive at least 15 mins early to get seated and avoid the rush. Groups of 3 or more will be assigned a table; free seating for singles and couples. Please check in with our staff before seating yourself.

Seats will be held for 30 mins after the show start, after which they may be given to walk-ins. Tickets can also be transferred - login to https://locarius.io/.
