About this event
A Fiddler’s Tale is a vibrant celebration of Canadian stories, composers, and musical traditions, bringing together classical refinement and fiddle fire in one dynamic performance.
The program features a curated selection of classical repertoire performed by members of the Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestra (PEISO).
The concert is anchored by rising Canadian star Brooklyn Wood, an award-winning 21-year-old violinist and composer whose artistry has been praised for its innate musicality and genre-crossing brilliance. Recently named First Prize winner at the Concert Artists International Competition and fresh from a performance at Carnegie Hall, Wood brings both classical depth and fiddle vitality to the stage. Highlights include her original composition Celadon Waves, along with a dynamic mix of classical and fiddle works that showcase her versatility as a performer and composer.
Joined by Timi Levy, Jeffrey Bazett-Jones, Gail Teixeira, Natalie Williams Calhoun and Christina Boyer from the Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestra — one of PEI’s most respected performing arts organizations — this string ensemble performance literally brings fiddlers, violinists and string players together from across the Island and the country.
Blending orchestral tradition, contemporary Canadian composition, and folk roots, A Fiddler’s Tale is an energetic and uniquely Canadian musical experience that bridges genres and generations.
