About this event
Rustico’s own Rowen Gallant returns home to share the stage with Celtic master Nick vanOuwerkerk. Between them, the two have spent decades travelling the world, honing their craft and captivating audiences with their music. Rowen, formerly of Ten Strings and Goat Skin and now a member of Maukin, has earned recognition from Music PEI, the ECMAs, the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and the JUNOs for his songwriting and genre-bending violin style.
Nick, trained at the renowned College of Piping here on Prince Edward Island, has performed across the United Kingdom and North America on bagpipes, Irish whistles, flutes, and uilleann pipes. His speed, precision, and creativity continue to amaze audiences worldwide. Together, Rowen and Nick make up two fourths of the award-winning nouveau-trad firestorm Maukin.
Hailing from Six Nations of the Grand River, Mohawk artist Logan Staats continues to showcase his powerful songwriting and commanding stage presence. On the road he has supported Grammy winning acts such as Mumford & Sons, Eric Clapton, and Steve Earle - and is looking forward to wowing crowds on PEI once again.
Closing out the night is Beauxmont an electrifying Acadian/Cajun group hailing from New Brunswick. A festival favourite, their blistering speed and driving Cajun rhythms will once again have Cymbria shaking all night long!
