About this event
Set in the picturesque historic village of Orwell. Take a trip back in time at the Sunset Session
Guitars and fiddles, washboard and dobros. This show has it all!
Join ragtime sweethearts The Vaudevillian for a trip back to depression era juke joints and dance halls as they transport you to a time of excess and prohibition; flapper dresses and suspenders; gold teeth and cigars; pickin' tunes and breakin' hearts. Their old fashioned swing is the elixir guaranteed to enliven your spirit.
Joining the Vaudevillian are fiddle talents Romy Munkres and Tre Sutherland, will be accompanied by Ray Knorr.
Originally hailing from Vermont, Romy Munkres, comes from a long line of traditional music players; the Munkres family is well known for hosting fiddle and contra dances throughout New England. Now a full time resident of PEI, Romy never fails to impress Island audiences with their unique style melding Celtic, Appalachian, and Scandinavian styles.
Tre Sutherland is a Cree fiddler hailing from Northern Manitoba. His love for traditional music brought him to study in PEI in 2018 and he has remained ever since. Blending prairie traditions, northern stories, and the many fiddle styles gathered along the way, his music carries the spirit of the camps, kitchens, and communities where he first discovered the joy of sharing tunes.
It promises to be another beautiful night in Orwell. We'll see you at the hall.
