About this event
Since first meeting at the Souris Show Hall in the summer of 2023, Carsie Blanton & The Burning Hell have co-written an album (Everything is Great) and toured it through Germany, the UK, and Ireland. Catch their only collaborative show in Canada back at the Souris Show Hall! Carsie, Joe, Mathias, and Ariel will sing and play together through several songs from their collaborative record, as well as songs from their respective catalogues.

Carsie Blanton is a songwriter with hooks, chutzpah, and revolutionary optimism. Inspired by artist-activists including Nina Simone and Woody Guthrie, her catalog exhibits a wide exploration of genre woven together by humor, a fondness for classic melodies, and the spirit of punk rock.
The Burning Hell is the project of songwriter Mathias Kom and artist Ariel Sharratt often including other comrades and collaborators. Their densely populated genre-shifting songs are packed with an abundance of literary, historical, and pop-cultural forebears, heroes and villains, subjects and objects, stories and hooks. They move with heavy rhyme and a light step, incorporating a frequent fixation on apocalypse and ruin into work that celebrates participation in a mutually created, ever surprising, and even occasionally beautiful world. Which is to say they’re good dance partners and they want to dance with you.
