Pottery: Introduction to Glazing

From this 3 hour class you will learn:

• what glaze is

• the basic science behind how glaze and clay fire together

• the important variables that you can control when mixing and applying glaze

• preparing your pottery for glazing

• how to dip and brush on glaze

• the importance and need for test tiles

• the difference between glaze and underglaze

You will leave this class with the confidence to start your own glazing journey through glazing 10 premade test tiles.

As a member you can purchase clay here at Makers. Included in the cost of the clay is access to our many house glazes and kiln firing.

Glazed kiln fired test tiles will be ready for pick up two weeks from last class.
