About this event
May 22 - Fiddler’s Sons’ featuring Eddy Quinn, John B. Webster, Blu Gillis, and Fiona MacCorquodale (fiddle), and with step dancers Grace Sulis-Chaisson, and Lillianna Bradley
The Benevolent Irish Society 2026 Ceilidh Season begins on Friday May 22, 2026 at the Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Road, featuring award winning island folk music group Fiddler’s Sons, featuring Eddy Quinn, John B. Webster and Blu Gillis with Fiona MacCorquodale on fiddle. We will also be featuring exceptional step dancers Grace Sulis-Chaisson, and Lillianna Bradley.
Eddy, the lead vocalist who also plays guitar and bodhran, has released two solo albums and received four PEI Music Awards. In 2017, the band celebrated twenty years in the music business with a compilation album, Fiddlers' Sons: The Best of Twenty Years, featuring 22 popular songs about Island life and its people.
John B. Webster, the group's lead guitarist and backup vocalist, grew up on Station Road in Cardigan. With a musical heritage, his father Jackie was a fiddle player, and his grandfather Jack led "Jack Webster’s Orchestra" in Kings County. John met Eddy Quinn at guitar lessons in Lorne Valley, and has contributed significantly to the band's five CDs over the years.
Blu Gillis will be again accompanying the group on Friday May 22nd to a very enthusiastic audience.
Fiona is a local musician who has been playing traditional fiddle music at local ceilidhs and venues across the Island for over a decade. She has recently crossed genres with local country bands “Brooke & Brad” and “Quittin’ Time”. She will be sharing some lively tunes, and accompanying the mix of folks songs in the Fiddlers' Sons repertoire.
Grace Sulis-Chaisson recently won the 2024 PEI Youth Talent Search Provincial Finals at the Summerside Lobster Carnival, so we know first hand how incredibly talented she is. Lilliana Bradley will be dancing along with Grace during the show and she is a fabulous dancer as well.
Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $20, Members $18, Children under 12 at $5. Advance tickets are available at the door subject to availability. The hall is air conditioned and licensed. Our lift is now back in operation. Complimentary tea and treats are served at intermission and there’s a 50/50 draw.
