September 25 -The September 25th Ceilidh at the Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Road, Charlottetown will feature popular island music group Guinness with Laura, Jim and Paddy Farrell.
Guiness will share the stage with guest fiddler Flora MacLaine and step dancers Grace Sulis-Chaisson and Lillianna Bradley. Guiness, an Island musical group, has been entertaining audiences throughout North America and Ireland since 1981. Their repertoire consists of traditional and contemporary Irish, Scottish and Maritime music played on instruments such as the guitar, 5-string banjo, fiddle, mandolin and tin whistle. The instruments complement the strong vocals produced by this trio.
Jim and Laura’s son, Paddy, joined the band in 2013. Playing the bodhran, sharing vocals and occasionally breaking into a lively Irish step dance, he has been a welcome addition to the group. Occasionally, Paddy’s two sons will join the family on stage.
The exceptional step dancers Grace Sulis-Chaisson and Lillianna Bradley will be accompanied by Flora MacLaine. MacLaine is both a fiddler and step dancing teacher. Sulis-Chaisson won the 2024 PEI Youth Talent Search Provincial Finals reflecting how incredibly talented she is. Lilliana Bradley is a fabulous dancer in her own right. Their performances will make you want to get up and dance!
Doors open at 6:30. The show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $20. Children under 12 are $5. Advance tickets are available online at Locarius. Tickets are also available at the door (CASH ONLY) and are subject to availability. The hall is air conditioned, licensed and accessible. Complimentary “tea and treats” are served at intermission. The 50/50 draw means some lucky person will be “richer” than when they came.
