About this event
Sunday, May 31 | 3–6 PM
Join us at O'Reilly's Irish Newfoundland Pub for a very special afternoon celebrating one of the most influential groups in Newfoundland’s musical history—Ryan’s Fancy.
Formed in the 1970s, Ryan’s Fancy played a pivotal role in shaping and preserving Newfoundland’s traditional music and culture. Through their music, television appearances, and storytelling, they helped ignite a cultural revival and brought the songs and spirit of Newfoundland to audiences across Canada and beyond.
The group—Fergus O'Byrne, the late Dermot O'Reilly, and Denis Ryan—became household names, blending Irish roots with Newfoundland tradition in a way that still resonates today.
This tribute show, hosted by Patrick Moran, will feature many special guests coming together to honour their legacy through the songs that helped define a generation. Expect an afternoon of music, stories, and that unmistakable Newfoundland “kitchen party” atmosphere.
A must-see for lovers of traditional music and anyone who appreciates the rich cultural heritage of our province.
