Shawn Hogan: LIVE ALBUM RECORDING! - Late show @ 8:45PM
Fri, June 5, 2026, 8:45 PM (AST)

About this event
Be part of history! The Comedy Cave's first-ever live comedy album recording, featuring SHAWN HOGAN — one of the East Coast's most prolific working comics — hosted by special guest JALEN MACLEOD.
Originating from Mill River, Prince Edward Island, Shawn Hogan has produced and starred in hundreds of sold-out comedy shows throughout the East Coast and beyond. He spent the last decade in Toronto, where he created, produced, and hosted The Hangover Cure Comedy Show. The show became one of the city's most unique and successful independent comedy shows, and was featured at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.
Closer to home, Shawn produced and headlined the DearPEI fundraising tour, raising $10,000 for community charities across the Island. He has made consecutive national television appearances as part of the Halifax Comedy Festival, was a featured comedian on CBC Radio's Laugh Out Loud, had a breakout performance on CBC's The Debaters, and was most recently hand-picked to open for Gerry Dee as part of his national Best Medicine Tour at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Hosting both shows is comedian and producer JALEN MACLEOD, one of the freshest voices on the PEI scene. Born and bred on eastern PEI, Jalen brings small-town charm and big-time laughs to the stage. Known to be handy with storytelling and gifted with a niche talent for embarrassing observationalism, he finds humour in the moments most people try to forget. His stand-up is equal parts familiar, funny, and unexpectedly ridiculous — just the way he likes it.
Two shows, one wildly fun Friday — 6:45pm and 8:45pm on June 5th. Bring the people you love laughing with most. We'll bring the rest. It's going to be a night to remember.
This event is made possible through the generous support of Innovation PEI and the PEI Arts Grants program!
Frequently asked questions
Why are there two shows/recordings?
Recording two shows means we get the best of both nights to put together the final album. Each audience brings its own energy, each performance has its own little surprises, and having two takes gives us more material to work with. Plus, it's two chances for you (or your friends) to be part of something special.
Will I be heard on the album?
Your laugh will be!
What time should I arrive? When do doors open?
Doors open 30 minutes before each showtime — 6:15pm for the 6:45 show and 8:15pm for the 8:45 show. We'd recommend getting there early to grab a drink, find a good seat, and settle in. The recording starts right on time, and you won't want to miss the top of the show.
Is seating assigned or general admission?
Seating is general admission, so the earlier you arrive, the better your spot. There can be exceptions with parties of 6 or more, simply reach out to us at itsmeshawnhogan@gmail.com and we'll make your crew comfortable.
Is this an all-ages or 19+ event?
This is a 19+ event. The Comedy Cave is a licensed venue, so please bring valid ID.
Is The Comedy Cave wheelchair accessible?
The Comedy Cave is located on the lower level of The Factory. If you have accessibility questions or need to arrange any accommodations, please reach out ahead of the show at itsmeshawnhogan@gmail.com — we want to make sure everyone can enjoy the night.
Is there food and drink available at the venue?
Bar service is available downstairs in The Comedy Cave until the recording starts — please note that service pauses during the show/recording. Food is only served upstairs at The Factory bar and restaurant, so if you're planning to eat beforehand, give yourself enough time to order, eat, and head downstairs to grab a good seat before showtime.
What's the vibe — should I bring a friend who's never been to a comedy show before?
Absolutely — bring them along! A live album recording is one of the most exciting nights you can have at a comedy show. The energy is high, the crowd is part of the experience, and there's something genuinely special about being in the room when an album is being made. If your friend is going to fall in love with stand-up, this is a pretty great place to start.
