About this event
Twine Weaving Workshop
~ Session 1: Learn how to prepare the fabric, load the
loom, and weave. You will take the loom home and continue
to work on the rug. Time: 2 to 3 hours.
Date for first session: Saturday, July 4, 11 am to 2 pm
~ Session 2: Finish the rug, unload it from the loom and
tidy it up. Time: 1 to 1.5 hours
Time between sessions 10 to 14 days.
Date for aecond session: Saturday, July 18, 11 am to 1 pm
You will need to bring 4-6 bedsheets that have been
washed. They can be cotton or cotton/polyester blends.
100% polyester material in not suitable, too slippery. Both
fitted and flat sheets work well. Old flannel sheets also work
well. Sharp scissors and a spool of thread (cotton or
polyester).
The portable looms are configured for the following dimensions:
Widths: 20", 18", 15", 12"
Lengths: 30" to 12" in 2" increments
That's the standard size that I'm making for now. That said you could note that looms can be purchased and orders can be placed for custom sizes.
Member Fee: $70 + tax
Non-member Fee: $90 + tax
