Big Band music at The Trailside this Summer!

The Charlottetown Jazz Ensemble performs Monday, July 6th at The Trailside. Recent winner of the 2026 Music PEI Award for Jazz, the Charlottetown Jazz Ensemble is a true big band with full horn sections – 5 trumpets, 4 trombones and 5 saxes plus piano, guitar bass and drums.   Formed in 1996 the Charlottetown Jazz Ensemble is celebrating its 30th anniversary this season, featuring Island musicians with a wide range of backgrounds, from gifted students to seasoned professionals. For 30 years now the band has been presenting an eclectic mix of traditional standards and contemporary jazz.  They continue to bring timeless jazz, tight musicianship, killer solos by some of PEI’s best improvisers, and true Island spirit to the stage - a local favourite built on decades of rhythm, improvisation, and community.
