About this event
Ian Foster is an east coast Canadian songwriter and composer who has toured in Canada, the U.S. and Europe since 2007. An East Coast Music Award (ECMA) and MusicNL award winner, he has released ten albums since 2006, and has had his music played on radio internationally.
Called "a true maverick of the Newfoundland and Labrador music scene" (Fred's Records) and "A perfect example of what a 21st folk musician should be doing" (CBC), Ian's work runs the gamut from acoustic singer-songwriter and storyteller to modern cinematic music, lush in texture and presentation. He is also a composer for film and television, and films that he has scored have premiered at festivals like TIFF and AFF. He was recently commissioned by CBC Radio Canada to write the theme for the 2025 Canada Games.
