About this event
Pottery: Continued Learning
This supplemental is intended to aid and guide those who are looking for a little extra support as they work to improve skills on the wheel. You do not need to book this class in order to make use of the studio space and equipment. Please visit our website for more information about our studio practices.
Join Eli for a session of one-on-one practice focused on reviewing and refining the fundamental skills of throwing on the wheel. This class provides a more structured learning environment for new and beginner potters, as well as the opportunity to discuss and troubleshoot techniques and practices as you challenge yourself with larger, more complicated projects.
Who is this for? This class is intended for those who have experience through a beginner course either here at Makers Studio or elsewhere. If you can wedge small amounts, center some of the time and pull walls with varying degrees of success, this class may be of benefit to you.
This class is conducted with studio clay. If you wish to keep any pieces or projects you must provide/purchase your own clay and firings.
COST: Pay for the class at the studio the day of the class.
Members: $60 plus tax
Nonmembers: $70 plus tax (additional $10 studio fee)
As always, email Barb and book a private session.

Yes. This is not intended as a stand alone class but rather a guided practice session. You must be know how to wedge, center and pull walls. You will be expected to set up and clean up the wheel and workspace.
What should I wear?
Please dress comfortably. Aprons are provided. You may get a little dirty but the clay washes out easily. We ask that long hair be tied back and long fingernails be trimmed down. especially the pointer and index fingers of the dominant hand.
What are we making?
This class is less about What you are making and more concerned with How you are making it. If you have specific concerns we can focus on those, otherwise the focus will be on establishing proper fundamental skills and techniques to help you grow as a potter.
