Pottery: Hand Build a Mug
Join us at the Makers Studio & Art Market for a fun and creative event where you can learn to hand build your very own unique mug! Whether you're a beginner or have some pottery experience, this in-person event is perfect for unleashing your creativity.
Pieces will be kiln fired to the colour of your choosing and available for pick up three weeks from the day of the class.
COST: Pay for the class at the studio the day of the class.
Members: $60 plus tax
Nonmembers: $70 plus tax (additional $10 studio fee)

Frequently asked questions
Will my mug be dishwasher safe?
Your mug will be food safe. You can put it in the microwave or dishwasher but we ask that you be mindful that if your equipment heats up very quicky to a very high temperature there is always the chance for it to crack in response to thermal shock.
Do I need experience?
No experience necessary. Our qualified instructor will take you step by step in designing and building a one of a kind mug out of clay using well know slab techniques. You will be pleasantly amazed and proud of your piece.
Can you guarantee my piece will make it through the firing process?
Although we do our best there is always the opportunity for something to go wrong during the firing process. Should your piece not make it through firing we will offer you two options. 1- for you to repeat the experience at no cost to your and 2- for us to remake your piece at no cost to you.
What should I wear?
Please dress comfortably. Aprons are provided. You may get a little dirty but the clay washes out easily. We ask that long hair be tied back and long fingernails be trimmed down. especially the pointer and index fingers of the dominant hand.
