About this event
π Join us at The Common Cents Club, hosted by Pride PEI and the PEI Transgender Network! π° No financial knowledge necessary, all are welcome in this space. Facilitated by professional bookkeeper Margot Williams (she/her), this event offers a relaxed environment to learn and grow together.
π Margot will lead a Finances 101 overview, covering topics around basic financial literacy and personal budgeting, and financial goals. Plus, there's plenty of time for your specific questions! However, there will be no pressure to participate. This may become a recurring event where questions and topics from this first session can be expanded upon as we grow together.
π Our longterm objectives:
1οΈβ£ Boost financial literacy: Let's build a common financial language and uncover the messages we've internalized about money.
2οΈβ£ Break barriers and get intimate with finances: Explore different types of debt, understand account fees, and dive into your monthly fixed costs.
3οΈβ£ Set tangible short and long-term goals: From creating a spending plan and emergency fund to dreaming big about investments and long-term aspirations.
π€ Our principles:
- Participant-driven agenda
- No pressure to speak; listening is valued
- Judgment-free, anonymous space for sensitive discussions
π Logistics:
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Location: The PEI Transgender Network Offices at Creative PEI
Don't miss this opportunity to take control of your finances and build a richer life together! Spaces are limited, so please register in advance.
See you at The Common Cents Club! π
